Network Expert
BGP, OSPF, VPNs, packet analysis, and real troubleshooting methodology.
What you'll actually learn
This is the track for the failures a basic networking course doesn't prepare you for: a BGP route that's being advertised but never actually used, an OSPF area that won't converge, a VPN tunnel that connects but passes no traffic. Instead of memorizing protocol state machines in the abstract, you build and break real BGP/OSPF topologies and read packet captures to find exactly where a routing decision went wrong.
What you'll be able to do
You'll be handed a network that's technically "up" but routing traffic badly — asymmetric paths, a flapping route, a misconfigured VPN — and trace it back to the actual protocol-level cause using the same methodology real network engineers use, not guesswork. That's the gap between knowing what BGP stands for and being trusted with a production routing table.
