Linux Administration

Real sysadmin work: packages, users, firewalls, SSH, backups, and troubleshooting.

Prerequisite: Advanced Linux

What you'll actually learn

This is real day-to-day sysadmin work, not a survey of commands: managing packages without breaking dependencies, creating and locking down users properly, configuring a firewall that actually matches the access you intend to allow, setting up SSH the way it should be set up rather than the way it works by default, and building backups you've actually tested — because a backup nobody has restored from isn't a backup, it's a guess.

What you'll be able to do

You'll take a fresh Linux server and turn it into something you'd trust to run a real service — locked-down access, working backups, a firewall that matches intent — then deliberately break something on it and troubleshoot your way back, the exact loop that defines the job once you're past the tutorials.
