Security: The Foundations
Threats, defenses, and the mindset that keeps systems and people safe.
What you'll actually learn
Security courses often start with a list of attack names. This one starts with the actual question defenders ask first: what's the realistic threat model for this system, and what would actually stop it? You'll work through the CIA triad, authentication vs authorization, and the classes of vulnerability that show up again and again — not as trivia, but as the lens you use to look at any system and ask "what breaks first, and why."
What you'll be able to do
You'll be able to look at a real system design and name its actual weak points before an attacker does — not "add more security" as a vague gesture, but specific, prioritized fixes based on what's actually exploitable. That's the difference between reciting security buzzwords in an interview and being the person a team trusts to review a design before it ships.
