Kubernetes: Operators & Beyond
Extend Kubernetes itself: operators, CRDs, service mesh, advanced scheduling.
What you'll actually learn
This is what comes after you already know pods, deployments, and services — the part where you stop using Kubernetes and start extending it. Operators encode operational knowledge (how to actually run a specific piece of software, not just deploy it) directly into the cluster as code, CRDs let you teach the API about resources that don't exist by default, and a service mesh takes over concerns like retries and traffic shaping that you'd otherwise have to hand-roll into every service.
What you'll be able to do
You'll write an operator that manages the lifecycle of an application the way a human operator would — reacting to failures, not just deploying once — and configure advanced scheduling so specific workloads land exactly where they need to, not just wherever the scheduler finds room. That's the shift from running things on Kubernetes to building on top of it.
