Kernel Modules
Write, compile, and load your own piece of code directly into the running kernel.
What you'll actually learn
A kernel module is code that runs with full access to the machine the instant it loads — no sandbox, no safety net — which is exactly why writing one teaches you more about how Linux actually works than almost anything else. This track has you write, compile, and load your own module into a running kernel, and deal directly with the fact that a bug here doesn't crash a program, it can crash the whole system.
What you'll be able to do
You'll load a module you wrote into a live kernel, watch it show up in the running system exactly like a built-in driver would, and unload it cleanly — and you'll also deliberately break one, so you know what a bad module actually looks like from the outside before you ever meet one in the wild.
